DHCE was established in 2010 to formalise investigation & certification of food products produced in Ireland. Currently, DHCE operates in Ireland, UK and other European countries and supervises, audits, and certifies slaughterhouses, food processing companies and pharmaceutical companies. DHCE works under the supervision of the Islamic Centre of Ireland.

Thanks to our many years of experience, DHCE is known as a unique, professional and expert halal food certification body in Ireland and Europe.

We have an experience of ten years in ensuring Halal quality and assurance. With a growing Muslim community in Ireland and a number of Halal outlets opening, it has become crucial for Muslims in Ireland to have the assurance that the food they are consuming is genuinely Halal. Unfortunately, malpractices in the food industry are not uncommon.

This requires that an independent, impartial and qualified party to certify those that meet the Halal standards. DHCE has started this project free of charge. It does not cost the restaurants, takeaways or Halal outlets anything to be certified by DHCE and approved by Halal.ie. It does require transparency and commitment to delivering genuine Halal food products.

We have only one aim and that is to give confidence and assurance to Muslims that the food products they are eating are genuinely Halal. Eating Halal It is one of the most important teachings of Islam and without which our actions and our prayers are at risk of being rejected by Almighty Allah.

The general guidelines for grocery stores, restaurants and takeaways can be found here : (LINK) Only those that fulfil the criteria are certified and approved. There are no charges for this service and the guidelines are very minimum and hence all food premises that sell Halal should have no reason not to acquire certification.
